For starters, let me tell you a little about myself…

About Me (Just Another Regular Toronto Runner):

Hey, my name is Jeff. And I really appreciate you visiting TorontoRunClub.ca. So let me tell you a little bit more about me and my running. Basically…

I’m just your average Toronto runner! I’m a millennial who lives downtown, and I’ve spent the last 4-5 years casually running through the #6ix (as they call it).

The truth is, I just love darting down side streets and pacing through the parks that our great city has to offer.

For years, I’ve been pretty casual about my running. Truly, I’m just happy to be out there putting one foot in front of the other. But a few years ago, I decided to do the Yonge Street 10k with my girlfriend (now fiancé) and began warming up to the idea of organized events and races.

That said, it still took me a few years after that to get the gall to sign up for and complete the Toronto GoodLife half marathon. My finishing time wasn’t amazing (1:52) but I was proud of this endurance accomplishment. And since then, I have slowly gotten more serious about my running.

Sometimes (especially in the summer) the beers and sunshine distract me. I’m only human, after all. So where does that leave us? Well…

I’m now about to run my second half-marathon of the year (2016), I’ve read Born to Run twice, and I’ve never been more excited about throwing on my shoes and loping around the neighbourhood.

Confusingly, I am not starting a run club (yet) but I want to check out all the different clubs in the city and see what they have to offer. I plan to report back here and share my thoughts with you on the blog. I hope you’ll join me on this journey!
